1972 Chevelle SS #ATE0132
1972 Chevelle SS
Civil Vehicle

The 1972 Chevelle SS was manufactured by the Chevrolet Division of General Motors in the last year of the second generation of this vehicle.  The body style featured the "Coke bottle" look and a semi-fastback roofline for hardtop coupes became extremely popular.  The 1972 Chevelle SS or Super Sport was also manufactured at a time of declining muscle car sales.  In fact in 1972, the SS designation no longer stood for a "performance car option" but instead was used to depict a "trim package".  While the 1972 Chevelle SS could still be ordered with the 454 cu. in. large block V-8, four barrel carburetor, the base vehicle came with a 350 cu. in. V-8 , two-barrel carburetor.  To many, the 1972 Chevelle SS with large block V-8 represented the end of the muscle era where performance was more important than fuel economy.  This 1972 Chevelle SS scaled model includes the following features: 1) Authentic matte black hood graphics; 2) Chrome parts; 3) Clear plastic window glass areas; 4) Detailed V-8 engine; 5) Detailed interior with manual transmission floor shifter; 6) Hood can be displayed in the closed or open position; 7) Vinyl blackwall tires and 8) Illustrated assembly instructions.  The box is in new condition.  Never started and factory sealed.
