Cold War
Warner Home Video

The movie, Firefox, is an entertaining cold war fantasy story about the stealing of a Russian developed Mach 5 jet with thought-controlled weaponry.  The lead character, Mitch Gant, was once a hotshot pilot who happens to speak Russian, so despite his mental instability due to his Vietnam induced posttraumatic stress condition, is recruited for this daring mission.  Gant's mission is to steal the Soviet top secret Firefox jet and return it safely to the U.S. military for evaluation.  Unknown to the U.S. Military planners, however, is the existance of two Firefox jets which will later compromise Gant's mission.  Once Gant is inserted into Russia, he is assisted by some Jewish dissidents who are really more heroic than he is.  This movie is an adaptation of an espionage thriller written by Craig Thomas and is aviation related fantasy at its best.  Starring Clint Eastwood, Freddie Jones and David Huffman among others.  Widescreen in color.  Released in 1982.  Runtime 136 minutes.
