The film, Firepower, includes the following four aviation related features on two video tapes: 1) Fight for the Sky; 2) Dogfight; 3) Air Attack and 4) Strategic Air Power. In Fight for the Sky, breathtaking aerial footage gives you a close-up look at today's fighter pilots and their aircraft, from high tech fighters like the F-16 Fighting Falcon, Tornado and Mirage to sleek long range interceptors like the F-14 Tomcat and F-15 Eagle. This feature includes interviews with today's top pilots and explores their ability to keep-up with technology and whether machines might someday replace manned aircraft. The second feature, Dogfight, looks at modern jet fighters from the pilot's perspective, from technological marvels, like radar and avionic to advanced systems and stealth technology. Also, included is practice dogfighting from the elite Navy's Top Gun School. The third feature, Air Attack, includes outstanding footage both in and outside a B-1 B Strategic Bomber as it carries out a low-level mission at tremendous speeds. This feature focuses on modern attack aircraft with a special focus on strategic bombers. The fourth and final feature traces the history of strategic bombers in the United States Air Force from World War II up to the latest bomber technology. Aircraft reviewed in this feature include the B-2 Stealth Bomber, B-52 Stratofortress and the KC-135 aerial tanker. Of particular interest is footage which gives the viewer a rare look at what it is like to fly a combar mission into the flak-infested sky over Iraq in the cockpit of a B-52 bomber. Full screen in color. Released in 1993. Runtime approximately 120 minutes.
