Henschel Hs 129 #MBISFT0005
Henschel Hs 129
Motorbooks International

The Henschel Hs 129 flown by the Luftwaffe in World War II was often referred to by its nickname the "Panzerknacker" or translated to English the "tank cracker".  It was in essence, a single seat ground attack aircraft that was used primarily in the Russian Theater of combat.  While it enjoyed some success as an anti-tank weapon when used against Russian tanks, it never really had a chance to prove itself or the concept of a twin engine anti-tank weapon because it frequently was forced to operate in local tactical battlefield situations where the German Luftwaffe did not enjoy air superiority.  While the book, Henschel Hs 129, is a Czech publication, the photographs and the text have been translated into the English language.  Included in this book are: 1) Approximately 48 period black and white photographs; 2) 34 black and white line drawings; 3) 11 color aircraft profiles; 4) 1 color cockpit illustration; 5) 1 black and white full aircraft cut-away and 6) Numerous technical data tables.  This book is 61 pages and is in like new condition.  The authors are Petr Stachura, Denes Bernad and Dan Haladej.  Edition published in 1993.
