The F-104 Starfighter was a product of Lockheed's top designer Kelly Johnson and his famed design team at the legendary "Skunk Works". The F-104 Starfighter was designed and developed into the fastest, highest flying operational U.S. Air Force fighter of the 1950s. While it was designed by an American company and built for the U.S. Air Force, more than twice as many Starfighters were built and flown in other countries including Canada, Germany, Italy and Japan. In all, the F-104 was a front-line fighter for 14 allied air forces during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The book, Lockheed F-104 Starfighter, is the first comprehensive review of the development and the operational history of this supersonic fighter. Individual chapters thoroughly describe each major version of the U.S. and foreign built F-104s. Included in this book are 150 color and black and white photographs, many detailed illustrations and technical data. The book is 144 pages and is in like new condition. The author is Steve Pace. Edition published in 1992.
