The movie, Mission To Mars, is set in the year 2020 when the first N.A.S.A. space mission to the planet Mars is launched.  While the initial mission lands safely on the red planet, the crew soon experience the bizarre and shocking secret that ultimately leads to the death of all but one of the astronauts.  Crew members in the Earth orbiting World Space Station soon pick-up a cryptic last message from the surviving Astornaut that hints at the mysterious and catastrophic disaster.  The commander of the World Space Station agrees to send a N.A.S.A. led relief mission that moments before entering a Mars orbit  runs into a small meteor shower that quickly disables their ship.  The crew ultimaltey transfer to a nearby cargo vessel for the descent to the Martian surface but in so doing looses one of their crew members.  Eventually the remaining rescue crew members discover the one Astronaut spared from the earlier disaster and begin planning their escape from Mars.  Before leaving, however, the N.A.S.A. rescue crew commander decides to explore a nearby rock outcropping that looks like a "human face".  While the group knows that they are in a dangerous situation, they decide to explore this strange rock outcropping.  The only remaining question is what will they find when they entere an open door in the "human face" and whether or not once inside, anyone will be able to escape from Mars and return safely to Earth.  This video includes a documentary titled "Visions Of Mars" and a Visual Effects Analyses.  Starring Gary Sinise, Tim Robbins and Don Cheadle among others.  Full screen in color.  Released in 2000.  Runtime 113 minutes.
