Pork Chop Hill
Cold war
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment

Based on the true story of S.L.A. Marshall, Pork Chop Hill is a harshly realistic  depiction of the famous and bloody capture of this North Korean outpost during the  closing stages of the Korean War.  While Peace negotiations are being conducted 70 miles away in Panmunjon, a undermanned U.S. Army unit is asked to take this hill to prove to the Chinese diplomats that the U.S. will continue fighting if necessary to bring the conflict to a successful conclusion.  This well acted film depicts the brutality of the battle, the indifference the commanding generals negotiating a truce 70 miles away and the complexities of fighting a nighttime engagement under difficult conditions. Starring Gregory Peck, Harry  Guardino and  George Peppard among others. Fullscreen in black and white.  Released in 1959.  Runtime 98 minutes.
