The movie, The Adventures of Robin Hood, is the definitive film version of the legend of Robin Hood.  In this classic tale, good always triumphs over evil with spectacular color and panache.  In this story which is familiar to most, the valiant defender of the downtrodden, Sir Robin of Locksley battles the evil Prince John who is intent on taking the English throne away from the rightful king who has been detained in France.  Sir Robin is not only an expert archer and woodsman, he is also a lady's man who is always willing to trade amorous glances with the beautiful Maid Marian.  This movie is full of adventure, intrigue and love.  The climax of the movie is the famous sword-fight between Sir Robin and the despicable Sir Guy of Gisbourne agent of Prince John.  This film cost over $2,000,000 a princely sum of money when it was produced in 1938.  It includes lush art direction, crisp film editing and a lavish musical score.  Anyone interested in the legend of Robin Hood is sure to enjoy this movie.  Starring Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland and Basil Rathbone among others.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1938.  Runtime 103 minutes.
