The movie documentary, The Great War And The Shaping Of The 20th Century: Hatred And Hunger & War Without End (Vol.4) includes the seperate titles Hatred And Hunger & War Without End.  The documentary film, Hatred And War,  reveals that The Great War had been the worst disaster in history of mankind up to that point with over nine million soldiers killed, millions more wounded, four collapsed empires and large stretches of Western Europe left in ruins.  This episode reveals that the war laid the groundwork for the "Cold War" between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R..  It also shows how the Allies continued to wage war against the Germans using a naval blockade that starved the country into submission.  The peace treaty that was signed resolved little and in the end planted the seeds of resentment that led to an even greater conflict one generation later.  The documentory film, War Without End,  reveals that although the war came to an end, it left in its wake broken hopes, broken families and broken lives.  In this final episode, the aftermath of the war and the failed peace are explored in detail.  For the "lost generation" it created, the war became a war without end, one that continued through missing limbs, mutilated faces and shaking bodies.  In Germany,  the sense of betrayal and dishoner prompted some Germans to seek revenge and with it a new world order.  Note: This VHS tape was formerly the property of the Rochester Hills public library and was purchased at a recent Friends Of The Library book sale.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1996.  Runtime approximately 120 minutes.
