 The film, Train Rides To Adventure: Hawaii is centered on the Lahaina Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad, also known as the "Sugar Cane Train", is currently the only fully functional steam train in Hawaii.  The viewers train trip occurs on the beautiful island of Maui which was built over forty years ago to replicate the steam trains used on the island to transport sugar cain crops from the inland plantations to various harbors for shipping. The viewer departs the seaside resort community on a train ride that will take you into Hawaii's past.  You'll marvel at dazzling vistas, sparkling surf, magnificent mountain peaks and sun drenched sugar cane fields.  Railroad history comes alive as the viewer goes behind-the-scene to see railroad workers as they prepare the Lahaina Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad for another day of train travel.  Additionally, the viewer will see home movie footage of the Lahaina Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad as it was being constructed over forty years ago.  In the end, the viewer will see the many faces of Hawaii's cheerful and diverse people, experience the thrill of riding a steam operated locomotive and watch Hawaii's beautiful places pass you by in open train cars that will take you back to an earlier place and time.  Full screen in color.  Released in 1998.  Runtime 43 minutes.
