Triplanes: A Pictorial History Of The World's Triplanes and Multiplanes
Motorbooks International

The book "Triplanes" presents an overall survey of triplanes and multiwing plane configurations from the 1868 model built by John Stringfellow to the present-day boom in the World War I replica building.  This book is divided into several distinct historical periods by chapter, with the appropriate triplane chapter for each period followed by a chapter on contemporary multiplanes.  Given the large number of triplanes developed in World War I, that period is covered by two chapters one each for single-seat and larger models.  Most airplanes descriped in each chapter are listed alphabetically by the manufacturers names regardless of chronological order or nationality.  This book includes many rare black and white photographs which help document the evolution of triplane and multiplane aircraft.  This book is 160 pages and is in like new condition.  The authors are Peter M. Bowers and Ernest R. McDowell.  Edition published in 1993.
